Press Room: Thermally Efficient Balcony Design with Schock

Thermally Efficient Balcony Design with Schock

A striking development in Vienna features large protruding cantilever balconies giving added impact to the design and views for residents. Integral to these balconies is the outstanding insulation properties and structural performance of Schöck Isokorb® thermal break modules.

The Schöck modules dramatically reduce thermal energy loss, transfer load and maintain full structural integrity throughout.

The project, designed by architects Rüdiger Lainer, comprises 250 high quality apartments, each with a private outdoor space and an underground car-parking space. Although high-density, the development offers residents quality outdoor space, views and substantial sunlight. A large variety of communal outdoor areas are incorporated, including vegetable gardens, lawns, a sauna at roof level, children's play areas and vertical gardens.
