Eurobrick cladding system enables speedy installation of new classroom
Eurobrick Approved Installer NuBrick Developments recently completed an installation of Eurobrick’s P-Clad system on behalf of Eco Off-Site Production Ltd on new classroom facilities for Parkfields School in Bedfordshire.
The project involved fitting 135m² of P-Clad to a new modular building off-site in Eco Off-Site Production’s factory in Yorkshire. For overall speed of delivery, installing the brick cladding in a controlled environment will produce significant productivity gains compared to on-site installation.
In this case, it took Nubrick just 5 days, using two installers and one pointer, to fit the cladding to the building and point the brickwork. Twenty four hours after the installation was completed the building was lifted and by the next day it had arrived on site at Parkfields School in Bedfordshire.
The only site works required in respect of completing the exterior finish was to insert the brick slips and point where the modular joints met. London Multi Buff F297 brick slips and Europoint Light Sandstone pointing mortar were chosen for the Parkfields School project.
P-Clad comprises a cement particle board with Eurobrick’s horizontal ribbed profile pre-bonded to it. P-Clad was developed for use as an external sheathing on structures where there is no requirement for insulation.
Eurobrick’s cladding systems are used extensively by modular building companies for off-site installation. They are quick and easy to install and robust enough to be transported to site and craned into position. There are two ranges of brick slips available, offering a wide variety of colours, styles and textures. The cost effective Britannia Range is particularly popular for finishing modular buildings. The slips are extruded meaning they are manufactured as a slip (rather than being cut from a whole brick).
All of Eurobrick’s brick slips are real kiln fired clay products meaning the end product is a traditional looking masonry wall which is both durable and low maintenance.
