Knauf Demonstrates the Latest Advances in Sustainability
Knauf Insulation took part in the RIBA CPD London Roadshow event on November 12th, demonstrating to architects and specifiers the latest advances in sustainability and the manufacture of insulation.
Focusing on the innovations in sustainability, the presentation covered renewable energy, the BRE Green Guide and Life Cycle Analysis, plus the latest environmental advances in relation to insulation. Knauf Insulation considered the moral, political and financial case for insulation, in seminars in London as well as a number of cities across the UK which will take place in 2010.
Knauf Insulation also discussed the issues and requirements in relation to the Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM illustrating the core benefits of various insulation types and how they fit into the new environmental technologies verification scheme.
The sustainability credentials of mineral wool were highlighted, which include the recent introduction of ECOSE® Technology, a revolutionary new formaldehyde-free binder technology, based on rapidly renewable materials instead of petro-based chemicals. It reduces embodied energy and delivers superior environmental sustainability.
Tony Corocoran, marketing manager for non residential buildings at Knauf Insulation comments: “The RIBA CPD is an excellent tool for us to convey our commitment and drive to promoting sustainable products.”
The RIBA CPD allows attendees to mix and match from each stream of CPD presentations, each with a capacity of 40-100 delegates.
