British Spirals & Castings is a specialist in the design and manufacture of bespoke spiral staircases, balustrades, balconies and exterior straight staircases for both the homeowner and commercial customer. Established in 1980 in Derbyshire, the company has grown and developed a strong reputation for high quality modern, traditional, cast iron and timber staircases throughout the UK and worldwide.

With a team of highly skilled craftsmen, the company will design a staircase to suit any application. Using a range of crafts and materials including cast iron, timber, wrought iron, spiral and straight treads and patterns and sand casting for high definition patterns, the customer can be guaranteed a beautiful individual staircase.

Products

All staircases are made to order for individual purpose and can have varying tread heights. A range of balusters and timber handrails are available to complement the stairs.

Regent Cast Spiral Stairs

Suitable for modern and traditional, private and commercial properties with a reproduction Victorian tread pattern.

Victorian Cast Spiral Stairs

Internal and external use, five diameters available, ideally used for loft conversions, access to balconies, gardens and conservatories.

Parisienne Spiral Staircases

An elegant design, used for cast or timber tread stairs, with Victorian or plain baluster and optional timber rails and carpet recessed treads.

Scandinavian Spiral Stairs

A modern, contemporary wooden staircase produced using oak, birch faced or solid timber. Can be fitted with Victorian or plain baluster, timber handrails and carpet recessed treads.

Wooden Spiral Staircases

Designed to individual specification and built in any timber, including white oak, beech, maple and cherry. Can be fitted with timber and metal balusters in modern and traditional designs. Matching galleried landings and fascias and a carpet recess are available.

Balconies

Built to any size in steel or aluminium to create an external seating area or walkway with a co-ordinating spiral staircase.

Balustrades

Designed to co-ordinate with any staircase or balcony, straight or circular handrails in steel or timber. Independent balustrades can be manufactured for use on patios, straight stairs and garden areas.

Exterior Straight Staircases

Straight staircases can incorporate a spiral stair at the top or bottom, designed for co-ordinating with the filigree pattern of the spiral treads and cast plates used on balconies.

Helical and Bespoke Stairs

Individually designed for awkward areas such as curved walls, halfway access points and S shape stairs with straight central sections in wood and cast iron designs.

Fabricated Spiral Staircases

Steel balconies and spiral staircases with timber inserts and decking areas suited for internal and external use.

All staircases are manufactured at the company's foundry in Stoke on Trent, and are produced using only BS approved materials and standards that are set by The Spiral Manufacturers Association. The spiral staircases are fully tested and comply with UK building regulations.
