Filter bed nozzles are most commonly used in water treatment plants and sewage treatment plants. For drinking water, products need to be approved by the Water Regulations Advisory Service.

Most types of nozzles are made of polypropylene but other materials are also used, such as glass fibre-reinforced polypropylene and PVDF, to suit customer requirements. Stainless steel nozzles may be specified for high temperature application.

Different types of nozzles are available, designed for use with pressure, rapid gravity, slab and monolithic floor filters. Numerous options cover a choice of thread, vertical or horizontal slot, different slot sizes, stem length and stem bore.
