I have sandstone window cills and corner qoins which have become stained/dirty by the weather/rain. The house was built in 1994 and the stones are cast.
I would like to clean them and then seal them as I understand the cleaning process will cause the sandstone to become more porous. I have researched the web and there are conflicting views of the type of cleaning agent i.e. acid solution vs chemical solutions vs detergents. The same applies to sealants to use.
