Ways to water savings
Water conservation is vital to the environment and reducing water usage can save businesses, local authorities, schools and healthcare trusts a lot of money. In the past, uncontrolled flushing of urinals could account for most of the water used in public and commercial buildings. With the introduction of the Water Regulations, all urinals should have a device fitted to prevent flushing when the building is not in use; but going beyond the regulatory demands can lead to even greater savings. A flush control can drastically cut water consumption while still meeting public hygiene criteria.
Flush controllers can either have timed controls, setting the flush at programmable intervals, or use infra red movement detectors to operate only after the urinal has been used. These can incorporate an electronic delay to prevent further flushing for a pre-set period. Whatever method is chosen, a quality system needs to be chosen that has proven reliability.
