How do i put up clay briquettes on a fireplace?

Do you mean briquettes similar to those used in the construction of Claygate Fireplaces, popular in the 1930's? Usually the briquettes would be used to fully construct a fireplace in a similar manner to that of a wall with mortar etc. However,if you are trying to stick them to an existing fireplace this may not be so successful.

Kind regards
