Types and Uses
Glass splashbacks are a stunning way to add cutting edge decor to any home or office. As a modern alternative to wall tiles, they are attractive and hygienic and offer virtually unlimited design possibilities for kitchens and bathrooms.
A toughened glass splashback behind a cooker or hob adds colour and elegance to a home or commercial kitchen and is easy to clean. It can be made to the exact size and shape required with precise cut-outs for sockets and switches.
Glass combines beauty with practicality and strength. Colours can be striking or subtle, with high gloss, matt, textured or mirror finishes. Some companies will print art on glass. Glass toughened to BS EN 12150 is an option and for environmental benefits, there are ranges made from recycled material.
Things to look for are whether the edges are coloured and bevelled, the thickness of the glass and what temperature it will withstand. Some toughened glass splashbacks can withstand temperatures of up to 400 degrees C.
