Please could you tell me if I put copper nails into tree stumps or wood base bushes, will it kill off the tree?

The general consensus is that yes, copper nails can help to kill off the stump once you have chopped the tree down.

The copper sulphate poisons the tree although there is a difference of opinion as to how many nails it takes and how long before it is dead. Suffice to say, the bigger the tree stump, the more nails you should probably use.
