Types and Uses
The world of information might be changing dramatically, but notice boards will always play a vital role. At a park, church, sports venue, leisure centre, school, village hall, theatre or myriad other places, a notice board is the place people turn to when they want to find out about activities in the area, opening times or contact details.
There have been significant advances since the days of a basic wooden board with piece of paper fastened on by drawing pins.
Today, there is a choice of frame materials including hardwood, metals or long-lasting man-made alternatives. Notices or posters can be protected behind glass or polycarbonate, with features built in to prevent condensation problems, lighting can be incorporated and doors can be locked. There are sizes and styles to suit all sorts of environments.
Featured Company – Greenbarnes Ltd
Greenbarnes has been making and supplying high quality notice boards for more than 20 years. Simple notice boards and advertising boards can be bought online. Friendly, experienced staff will give all the help needed to choose a product manufactured to order.
External notice boards are available in hardwood, aluminium or a material made from recycled plastics that looks just like timber, but is maintenance free. All can be wall or post mounted.
The hardwood boards are made from sustainably-sourced oak and come in one, two, or three bay designs with a choice of headers. They can be specified unglazed, glazed with toughened glass or polycarbonate, or a mixture of the two. Features include integral weatherstrips and ventilation. Tried and tested locking makes access to notices problem free.
The portfolio of aluminium boards and display cases covers a wide price spectrum. Nearly all products offer a choice of anodised, powder-coated, polished or stainless finish. For general use, the Snap Frame, Budget and A-Select ranges are good value; the premium A-Min, A-Max and DG boards offer the ultimate in build quality and styling. Customisation is available with different headers and display surfaces.
Greenbarnes’ man-made ‘timber’ notice boards are extremely durable. Constructed from a mix of polystyrene waste and virgin polystyrene, they will not rot, fade or warp and are vandal resistant. Yet the timber look is so convincing that the boards can be used in sensitive locations.
With all three categories, bespoke versions can be manufactured to meet specific requirements.
Internal notice boards are also available in aluminium with a magnetic back panel and acrylic glazing in framed or unframed doors. Bespoke hardwood internal notice boards can also be made.
