Where to buy waterproof render

  • Ronacrete Ltd - Ronac House, Flex Meadow, Merring Way, Harlow, Essex, CM19 5TD, 01279 638700

I have built a carp pond and want to render it watertight (it is made out of 7 newton concrete blocks).

I'm guessing your question is “What products are available to waterproof a pond made from 7n concrete blocks?“

The short answer is that there are many products ranging from cement to bitumen to acrylic based systems. The one which is appropriate for your job will be dependent upon a number of factors not least of which is the size, shape, method and quality of construction.

Of course your choice is limited by the fact you presumably want to put fish in it and not to poison them with the chosen system!

If your preference is for a render system, I would look at a Sika product or equivalent with BBA Certification (British Board of Agrement). These are premixed and bagged then water is added and the resulting slurry is applied like plaster or sand and cement mix.

Get in touch with Sika or another company that can advise you on the specifics. See: http://www.theconstructioncentre.co.uk/companies/sika-limited/526/
