Vector Foiltec roof material for stunning airport attraction

Vector Foiltec is part of the team behind the exciting Jewel Changi Airport in Singapore, due to open in early 2019.

Rain Vortex attraction

Jewel is envisaged to be a world-class lifestyle destination in Singapore, with a wide range of compelling lifestyle offerings including unique play attractions, a lush garden, shopping and dining experience of world-class standards, a hotel and airport operations facilities.

Vector Foiltec is manufacturing Texlon® ETFE for the roof of the stunning Rain Vortex attraction at Jewel (pictured).

The 12-metre-wide oculus at the centre of the sophisticated steel and glass roof will be built with Texlon® ETFE. The lightweight material of the Texlon® ETFE system enables a structurally efficient structure, and large column free spaces. The translucent nature of the material will also allow natural light into the spaces below.

Jewel is designed by a consortium of consultants comprising Safdie Architects led by world renowned architect Moshe Safdie, as well as Benoy and local architects RSP.
