Trailflex used for ecological resort
Trailflex surfacing – which uses recycled rubber and offers outstanding ecological benefits – has been chosen for a major green tourist attraction.
The new Tyram Lakes Eco Resort development near Hatfield Moor on Humberside is thought to be the first of its kind in the country. When all phases are complete, it will feature 200 wooden eco lodges, many set on stilts over the water, and a hotel with spa facilities, all surrounded by beautiful natural scenery including 65 acres of lakes and 100 acres of woodland.
In keeping with its green principles, all the lodges will have solar panels and water purification systems and no vehicles powered by fossil fuels will be allowed on the site. Lake lodges will be equipped with a rowing boat and electric vehicles will be used around the woodland lodges. The developer behind the £25million scheme says it will provide a unique and tranquil escape in a beautiful natural habitat.
Trailflex porous surfacing, part of the product range offered by Langford Direct, fits in with this eco-friendly ideal and has been used to surface pathways, the visitors’ car park and access roads. The surfacing has an attractive finish which is sympathetic to the surrounding area.
