Titon Contributes to Carbon Neutral Development in Norfolk

The installation of Titon’s highly energy efficient heat recovery ventilation units has helped Dove Jeffery Homes deliver 12 new, carbon-neutral affordable homes in the village of Rackheath, near Norwich.

Trinity Close development

The flats and houses are a part of the Trinity Close development for Wherry Housing Association in partnership with Broadland District Council and include the HRV 1 Q Plus, HRV 1.5 Plus and the HRV 2 Q Plus units. Richard Dove, Head of Construction for Dove Jeffery, said: “We were given an existing consent for the Code for Sustainable Homes, Level Three and were asked to turn it into a Level Six scheme, which we successfully achieved, of which the HRV units from Titon were an essential part. Developments such as Trinity Close are ideally suited to these compact ventilation units, which combine cost-effectiveness with low maintenance for end-users.”

Primarily for use in dwellings with three wet rooms or fewer, Titon’s ultra-compact HRV1 Q Plus model is one of the most efficient whole house ventilation (with heat recovery) units of its size in the UK. Measuring just 600mm x 430mm x 285mm its size belies its performance, whilst the HRV1.5 Q Plus offers more controllable and flexible options in small to medium sized dwellings.

The HRV2 Q Plus is now available with improved features and in three model options, two of which include summer bypass, to bring it in line with other units, the HRV1.75 Q Plus and HRV2.75 Q Plus recently launched by Titon. Coupled with very low power consumption and a highly efficient heat exchanger – up to 90% – they are also incredibly effective for their size.

Although individual tenants will have their own pattern of occupation, each household has been provided with the means to live a carbon neutral lifestyle.
