The Three Bears Enjoy Freedom to Roam on Rolawn Turf
Three rescued bears are enjoying life in their zoo enclosure roaming turf supplied by Rolawn.
Carmen, Peggy and Suzy are now enjoying life and adjusting to their new surroundings at the Five Sisters Zoo, West Calder after being rescued from Belgium.
For Shirley and Brian Curran and all the staff at the zoo, the months of hard work and worry about the funding of the enclosure have been rewarded by the sight of these bears settling in.
Brian commented: “All three bears are now enjoying the freedom of roaming and foraging, possibly for the first time in their life, they have probably not walked more than a few metres in a straight line till now. All of this was only possible due to the hundreds of kind people who have donated to the appeal and for the companies willing to help with materials and manpower.
“We have seen a tremendous increase in visitor numbers since the bears’ arrival which we hope will help with the ongoing cost of looking after them.”
