The Garden Trellis Company is proud to be celebrating 25 years since the start of a remarkable journey that has taken it from the founder working on his own in an old cow shed, to now operating from a 35,000 sq ft factory with a 40-strong team.
Director Julian Furness founded the company in 1992 with a policy of producing high quality bespoke joinery for garden designs. This remains at the heart of the company today; creating exquisite garden joinery for private customers as well as many of the UK’s very best garden landscapers and designers.
Julian started the business from an old cow shed in Thorpe-le-Soken, Essex, but as demand for his custom-made trellis, gates and panels grew, the business quickly moved to a small factory unit in Frinton-on Sea.
In 1994, Julian recruited his first employee, and today the team has grown to 40 employees, including joiners, panel makers, fitters, and designers, some of whom have been with us for many years. Team members have built an enviable reputation for creative design, professional service and the highest quality craftsmanship, and have showcased work on many occasions at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Today The Garden Trellis Company operates from a 35,000 sq ft workshop and design centre complete with purpose built paint workshop, drying rooms and state of the art dust extraction system and wood waste heater, to provide a carbon neutral heating system for the workshops.
In recent years, it has introduced a wide range of affordable ready-made and ready to assemble products available to buy online, to reach a wider range of customers looking for quality joinery. And to celebrate the 25th anniversary, customers are being offered £25 off when they spend £250 or more in the online shop!
There are numerous timber garden products to choose from – all with a minimum 12 year guarantee, using timber from properly managed sources and with delivery across the UK. To sit back and enjoy your garden, there are garden benches in a choice of sizes and finishes. And to make the most of climbing plants, there is a new decorative arched top rose tunnel as well as trellis-topped fencing panels, open trellis or slatted panels. Not forgetting a wide range of planters and obelisks.
