The Flood Company boosts protection for commercial premises with 6in Buffalo Valve
Flood protection expert The Flood Company has announced the launch of a new product specifically designed to offer enhanced flood protection for commercial properties.
The 6in Buffalo Valve, which carries the official ‘Made in Britain’ marque, is said to be “the only product of its type in the world” which offers a robust solution for protection against sewage back water and unwanted vermin.
The product offers an easy-to-install, non-return valve which can be retrofitted to any clay or plastic 150 mm/6-inch pipe. It also includes a steel reinforced plate to guard against pests such as rats, as well as a lockable flap to allow for essential maintenance.
The 6in Buffalo Valve follows on from the success of its predecessor, the award-winning 4” valve, and has been developed in line with demand from the Middle East and commercial property developers and owners in the UK.
Commenting on the launch, James Ruddiman, sales director at The Flood Company, said: “Having experienced significant success with the 4” valve, which is typically fitted in residential properties that are at risk of flooding, we were approached to create a solution which would meet the needs of both UK commercial requirements and that of a global market. With 6” pipes being a more standard spec across other countries, it made perfect sense to evolve our technology to enable it to be in use throughout the world in order to protect from the impact that flooding causes.”
The firm, which was established back in 2011 by managing director Luke Ruddiman, has secured thousands of residential properties and commercial organisations (including Sainsbury’s and Syngenta) from risk of flooding.
