Press Room: Textile Diffuser for Fitness First Highbury from HCA

Textile Diffuser for Fitness First Highbury from HCA

High Care Air secured the order for four new systems to be supplied to the new Fitness First Leisure /Fitness club constructed beneath the old Arsenal football ground East Stand.

Highbury Square

The old Highbury has been turned into 2.4 acres of London square with accommodation on all four sides which still retains a remarkable stadium look. The centre of the development contains several different garden and areas for relaxation and contemplation – with some squares left to go wild and other beautifully manicured. Against this backdrop Fitness First has developed a new suite of rooms below the East Stand to provide the highest standards of finish for the new Fitness Centre designed by Antarchitecture of Central London.

HCA provided Textile Diffusers for the Gym, Free Weights, Cardio and Swimming Pool Areas. The diffusers are all round shaped except for the swimming pool where a Half Round Diffuser was wall mounted upon a vertical wall. The swimming pool diffuser project supplied air across the pool to prevent evaporated volatile compounds from settling just above the surface as well as directing air towards a feature skylight in the roof and a long glass wall immediately below the diffuser running the length of the pool – these air patterns assist in removing any condensation build up on the glazing.

HCA provided the suspension systems at short notice to allow the main aspect of the installation works to be completed during First Fix phase on site, with the diffusers programmed to follow in the final week of construction where they slid into the existing rails and zipped together in sections before clamping onto the rigid spigots provided.

All of the Round Diffusers are permeable flame retardant material with anti microbial coating and anti clog micro-perforation diffusers. As these diffusers are all close to the occupied zone HCA was able to place the micro-perforations at specific points on the duct circumference to provide high volumes of low velocity air in the desired directions, a technique just not possible with traditional methods of squeezing the air through the weave of the textile. Because the system is not squeezing all of the air through the weave of the textile, HCA can also guarantee that it’s not trapping the dust either; ensuring long life and low ongoing maintenance costs for the end user.

HCA Textile Diffusers are available in a range of nine colours from stock at no additional charge. Design to delivery is usually achieved within a four week window and most orders are delivered in person by the company (rather than a courier) so that staff can answer questions and demonstrate the installation if required.
