TACP architects specify Forticrete to deliver natural finish on multi-million pound health centre
Forticrete’s popular Anstone® Walling Stone has been handpicked to complement the local vernacular of a striking new health centre in Llangollen, Denbighshire, in north east Wales.
Sitting along the A539, the main route in to the town, Llangollen Health Centre provides superior local medical care and support to the local community. As project architects, TACP specified Forticrete’s Anstone® Walling Stone in Black Old Weathered to blend with its surrounding area and adjacent World Heritage site.
Stephen Taylor, Director at TACP Architects, commented: “Not only did we want to create a healthcare facility fit for the 21st century, but we wanted it to act as a landmark for Llangollen. Therefore a welcoming, awe-inspiring, yet cost-effective finish that complements the building’s rural vernacular was essential.
“Forticrete’s Anstone® Walling with a Split Face finish has been an important element in achieving the vision – we’re delighted with the finish.”
Forticrete’s Anstone® walling products have been designed to blend in with the natural stone types found in Northern Britain. Anstone® products are manufactured from a carefully controlled mixture of graded limestone and other natural aggregates, cement and pigments, in accordance with national product standards for reconstructed stone masonry units.
