Stylish coloured-oil oak doors from Urban Front
Urban Front clients are often drawn to the natural grain and texture of hardwood front doors. In contemporary builds, it may be necessary to match or complement other materials used on the frontage. However, painting the door will result in a smooth finish, losing the texture of the wood. In such cases, oil-staining can be used to alter the door's colour while preserving its natural texture.
To achieve darker shades, Urban Front utilizes ebony, teak, and walnut oils, which preserve the natural wood grain of European oak while creating a deeper hue. In addition, they offer lighter shades such as white and grey.
After years of neglect, this once proud family home in Marlow was in need of a major update. The new owners were determined to restore it to its former glory and create a warm and welcoming living space. To achieve this, they opted for a complete redesign that involved knocking down and rebuilding the house from scratch.
The spacious front and back gardens provided the perfect opportunity to create a more suitable floor plan for a modern family. Being serial renovators, the owners were accustomed to making numerous decisions, but selecting the exterior proved to be the most challenging task.
They weighed the pros and cons of different materials such as timber, red brick, and render, but ultimately chose classic grey brick because it best suited the new house design.
The exterior features a striking contrast between the brick and an Urban Front pivot door made of oak with ebony oil. This door not only complements the windows but also keeps the overall aesthetic clean and eye-catching.
Upon entering the front door, the spacious downstairs area greets you with light oak herringbone flooring, a luxurious kitchen, and steel crittall doors, completing the house transformation in maximum style.
