Stiebel Eltron UK Named as Best Performing Division of Global Firm
Stiebel Eltron’s UK division has won the global green energy company’s International Challenge thanks to its strong growth and business performance in 2011.
Stiebel Eltron UK – which provides renewable energy systems including heat pumps, solar thermal and solar PV – was named as the best performing Stiebel subsidiary of more than 20 different countries across the world.
The competition took into account both growth and Working Capital Efficiency, with Merseyside-based Stiebel Eltron UK coming out on top in both categories.
Managing Director Mark McManus said the award was a massive achievement for its staff and installer partners, especially as the UK was up against regions much more established in the renewable energy sector.
“Stiebel Eltron UK is a relatively young daughter company having been set up in 2008, so to beat other colleagues in places such as Russia, France and Sweden – where the company has been in the market for a longer period – is testament to the hard work of everyone in the UK team, as well as our network of installer partners.
“We only narrowly lost out to Russia last year in the International Challenge, so to maintain the high level of both growth and efficiency is superb. Since launching in 2008 we have been very pleased with the response from the renewables market – we have created a strong brand known for quality and efficiency and built up a wide client base, in both the domestic and commercial sectors.”
Mr McManus said the company achieved 47 per cent turnover growth from January to December 2011, with a significant increase in ground and air source heat pump sales.
“The UK market has proved to be a real growth area for Stiebel Eltron, and we are delighted with the level of support and investment from our parent company. 2011 was our best year yet and the signs for 2012 are also extremely positive.
“We have had a strong sales increase in heat pumps and instantaneous hot water heaters, and have successfully adapted a lot of German products for the UK market which have sold well. We have also attracted market leading trade partners such as UFW Ltd and Toolstation, which has increased the awareness of the Stiebel Eltron brand as well as our geographical reach in the UK.
“The future is looking very bright for Stiebel Eltron UK with a range of new MCS approved products hitting the market this year and next.
“The Working Capital Efficiency measured a variety of areas, including stock turnaround, debtor days and Return on Investment. To be named as the best performing division demonstrates just how efficient, hard working and dedicated a team we have. Credit must also go to our installer partners, who work alongside our sales and technical staff to provide a first class service to commercial and domestic clients across the UK.”
Mr McManus was presented with the award at an international sales meeting at Stiebel Eltron headquarters in Holzminden, Germany.
