Ronacrete receives third ISO accreditation OHSAS 18001
Specialist construction manufacturer Ronacrete has scored an accreditation hat trick by achieving BS OHSAS 18001:2007, the third industry standard accreditation achieved by the company.
OHSAS 18001, covers Occupational Health and Safety Management, and was assessed and registered by the NQA.
The standard guarantees that equipment is being maintained, safe working practices are being adhered to, laws and standards are being obeyed and, importantly, that there is a safe working environment for staff.
In order to gain the accreditation Ronacrete instigated a review of its approach to Health and Safety management system, looking into all procedures and documentation and changes and improvements were made accordingly. Ronacrete was able to show visiting inspectors that risk assessments were in place for all operations of work, and that procedures were in compliance with health and safety legislation.
Daniel Olson, Ronacrete Managing Director, praised the achievement:
“Ronacrete has always had a commitment to the health, safety and welfare of employees; achieving this standard is a physical recognition of that commitment. The testing procedure is quite rigorous and involved inspectors questioning members of staff about the health and safety measures Ronacrete had undertaken.
The Ronacrete team has worked hard to ensure that the standards were met but it is well worth the effort to know that the highest health and safety requirements are in place and to have recognition that Ronacrete has reached that goal.”
Ronacrete has also been assessed and registered by the NQA for ISO 14001, which deals with Environmental Management and ISO 9001, the Quality Management standard.
Since July 2013, in compliance with the Construction Products Regulations (CPR) 2011, Ronacrete has CE markings on all products that are covered by harmonised European standards.
