Ronacrete has role in new chapter for Sheffield library
RonaDeck Resin Bound Surfacing provided the finishing touches to a £230,000 refurbishment of Sheffield’s Highfield Library.
The refurbishment was carried out by Sheffield contractors, TH Michaels. As well as a general modernisation of the Grade 2 listed building, which included new lighting, redecoration, new floor finishes and window repairs, improvements were made to the building’s compliance with accessibility and fire regulations, with the creation of a secure fire lobby with an alarm panel, fire detection and emergency lighting. A glazed passenger lift was added to the main library area.
External works included better parking facilities and access to the building was improved by resurfacing the footpath leading to the library and installing anti-slip nosing strips to the steps.
TH Michaels asked Ronacrete Approved Contractor, Route One Highways, to supply and install SuDS compliant, RonaDeck Resin Bound surfacing to the footpath. Golden Harvest aggregate was selected, creating attractive and slip resistant access to the much improved library facilities.
