Resin bonded Addastone surface chosen for award-winning park regeneration
As part of the £5.5 million regeneration of Alexandra Park in Manchester’s Moss Side, Addagrip approved contractor, Coatech, was asked by Principal Contractor Balfour Beatty to install Resin Bonded surfacing to the area around the new Pavilion.
The system proposed was Addastone and the aggregate selected by the client was Trent Pea 3-6mm to complement the park’s natural surroundings. Coatech installed 385 m² of resin bonded Addastone surfacing, providing an excellent anti-slip finish surrounding the Pavilion and retaining the heritage look of a loose gravel surface.
Coatech worked closely with the client to ensure that the park remained open to the public throughout the installation and meet the client’s tight schedule to ensure the area was ready for its grand reopening event.
The project has since won an award for Sustainability in the North West Construction Excellence annual awards.
