Quick servers to Dublin data centre
In yet another successful project for Ireland, a Tubosider stormwater management system has now been installed to serve a new data centre for Dublin Digital Realty.
What’s more, from design to delivery, the four Tubosider 1100mm diameter tanks commissioned by contractors Bennett Construction were all required to be turned round in a very short time for the project.
Located in Grangecastle, close to the M50 motorway serving Dublin and Dublin Airport, Profile Park is a highly prestigious development, with the emphasis on creating a campus style environment through innovative design and landscaping initiatives.
The Tubosider design for the site consisted of three tanks of three legs each and a further two-leg tank, all fitted to the meet the site layout and provide the 625 cubic metre capacity arrived at with engineers Doherty Finegan Kelly.
The data centre is the start of a series of advanced facilities of this type to serve Dublin and beyond. The turnkey Power Base Building (PBB) will be followed by a number of units to be developed on the 10 acre site, capable of supporting 11.5MVA IT Load.
The two-storey facility is a steel framed building on a combination of pad, strip and ground bearing slabs with open louvred, plant enclosures with generators at first floor level and external plant spaces at ground floor level.
Due for completion in August 2014, it is to be delivered to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and UTI (Uptime Institute) tier 3 accreditation for concurrent maintainability, with a ‘best in class’ PUE (power usage effectiveness).
