Polyroof Waterproofs Ski Slope Roof
The JG Graves Woodland Discovery Centre is being constructed in the Ecclesall Woods Sawmill as part of the Sheffield Woodlands Environment Enhancement Project. The centre will provide educational, information and refreshment facilities for the many visitors to the site.
The centre has been designed to blend in with the surrounding woodlands. The roof of the main building has a large ‘ski slope’ style roof and was originally intended to be waterproofed with metal sheets, however, it was quickly realised that this would be too expensive.
The client then turned to Charlesworth Contractors of West Yorkshire, a Polyroof approved contractor, to provide a cost-effective alternative that was also faithful to the original intended appearance.
Requiring a rapid solution for the waterproofing of the roof, the BBA approved Polyroof 185 system with Lead Roll effect trims was chosen for the project.
