Playground clock a team effort for pupils and Good Directions
Exterior clocks specialist Good Directions has helped schoolchildren know what time is it when they are out in the playground – by creating a clock from designs submitted by the pupils themselves.
The school wanted a personalised large clock for the playground and ran a competition for children to come up with a design. They selected six but they could not choose an outright winner, so the school asked Good Directions for help.
The team at Good Directions was asked to take elements from each of the six top designs and come up with something that was practical, but still looked like the children had produced it. After some hours of tweaking, a design was created that everyone was happy with.
Good Directions then produced a 610mm version in a bezel with LED illumination for the school playground and six battery-powered smaller ones for the six winning children.
