Planet helps transform Victorian Town Hall
A redundant Victorian Town Hall has a new lease of life aided by high performance glazed partitions and doors from Planet Partitioning.
The Grade II listed Longton Town Hall in Staffordshire has been refurbished and transformed into a vibrant community hub for local services and an office space where businesses can thrive. As part of the design, Planet’s range of high-performance glazed partitions and doors delivered on creating a modern, flexible and daylight-filled office space which was in keeping with the historic building elements.
Due to the building’s Grade II listing, Planet worked in close collaboration with BHB Architects and the client on the design which saw the ground floor of the town hall repurposed and reconfigured to maximise space whilst being sympathetic to the original Victorian features, including a stunning grand staircase.
Commenting on the project, Councillor Abi Brown, Council Leader, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “Planet’s hard work and commitment in bringing the building up to date has allowed us all to bring a landmark heritage building back into use to deliver services for the residents of Stoke-on-Trent as well as helping footfall and investment into Longton.”
