New SE1 product offers fast point repair even for potable water
The Quick-Lock point repair system from Uhrig has a new UK distributor – Source One Environmental (S1E). The system offers a quick-install, permanent repair for localised pipeline damage, and requires no curing time as no chemicals are involved.
“Quick-Lock offers a solid alternative to Pipe Doctor patch repair,” explained S1E MD, Glenn Cartledge. “It has a very different installation method to patch repair and therefore provides different benefits. Installers may find that some jobs require a patch, whereas other situations lend themselves to a Quick-Lock repair.”
Quick-Lock consists of an EPDM rubber seal and 1.4404 stainless steel sleeve. The sleeve is expanded within the pipe using a Quick-Lock packer, creating a watertight seal. Once installed, the Quick-Lock is resistant to high pressure jetting and can withstand up to 10 bar of internal pressure. The rubber absorbs movement in the pipeline over time, maintaining the seal for the long term.
Quick-Lock Liner End Sleeves are designed for the particular application which they’re named after. They use the same patented design as the standard Quick-Lock product and are manufactured from the same high-quality materials.
S1E will be stocking the standard Quick-Lock product and Quick-Lock Liner end sleeves straight away but is also able to source products from the full Quick-Lock range, including Quick-Lock Mini for small diameter pipes, Quick-Lock Big for large diameters and Quick-Lock Flex for displaced pipe joints.
“The Quick-Lock product has been used successfully in many applications across the world, over a period of years,” commented Glenn. “It’s also been through independent testing and accreditation from WRc, ASTM and DIBt. It’s also certified by NSF for potable water applications. Along with the durable materials used to manufacture this product, these certifications indicate what a quality range of products Quick-Lock represents.”
