MPH Building Systems Highlight the Importance of Recycling

For many people the phrases temporary or mobile classrooms conjure up recollections of worn out, failing structures from schooldays past.

Demountable Buildings

Altering this mindset takes time but in reality the modern modular teaching spaces of today are a world apart from those neglected, unpleasant, damp and draughty prefabs.

Unsurprisingly advancements in modular building technologies have seen the birth of a new era for modular builds. An exciting new generation of demountable classrooms systems have arrived and in their wake comes a flexible building solution that will often outperform the requirements of a traditional school environment.

Over the years, companies like MPH Building Systems of Huddersfield have had to battle the stigma of the original prefabs. Jeremy Hunt of MPH explains: "There is only one place for the buildings of old in today's Education system and that is the history books". He adds, "A mixture of high end specifications and impressive low energy-efficient qualities enable us to meet Building Regulation and Ofsted standards. To this end we are able to deliver excellent build quality whilst controlling costs and reducing overall carbon pollutants - something that the temporary classrooms from the past could never have achieved".

Recycled Mobile Classrooms

It isn't just the newest buildings that are changing the perceptions of this eco-friendly form of construction. In a recent article Jackie Maginnis, Chief Executive of MPBA, reported that "the use of preowned modular buildings is the most environmental friendly method of construction and a highly sustainable alternative to new build and to the demolition and disposal of buildings in landfill sites". Furthermore the article highlighted that "pre-owned modular buildings generate less than 10 per cent of the carbon omissions and use less than 3 per cent of the energy during construction compared to a newly manufactured building of the equivalent size".

At MPH customers can choose from a selection of both new and fully refurbished used buildings. Their existing stock varies from school dining halls and lecture rooms to numerous class layouts. Equipped with combined heat/cool air conditioning systems, energy efficient lighting and high performance components, new generation classrooms are both comfortable and cost-effective to run and maintain.

Mr Hunt of MPH concluded "We recycle buildings that comply to the very latest standards. It is a reality that very old buildings will have to be demolished, but we offer a wrap around service that minimises disruption to schools and maximises cost efficiency to education services. We commit to every project with the environment as our number one priority".

Readily available for immediate delivery through the United Kingdom, refurbished demountable buildings also afford clients substantial savings on project costs and build programmes and extra eco-friendly advantages based on the concept of the three R’s: Relocate, Reuse and Recycle.
