Lancaster Court Re-roofed by Polyroof
Residents of Lancaster Court, a block of apartments in Preston, can say goodbye to leaking roof problems and look forward to lower fuel bills, thanks to Polyroof.
The project involved the waterproofing of a large roof area above Lancaster Court, which had long suffered from leaking. Various repairs had been carried out in an attempt to prevent water ingress; however these had only limited short term success. Furthermore, the roof was inefficient in terms of thermal performance and the fuel bills for the residents were higher than they needed to be.
The property management company that looked after the building decided that a long-term waterproofing system was required that must also be able to incorporate new insulation to current building regulation standards.
The BBA approved Polyroof 185 warm roof system provided the ideal solution. Following discussion with Polyroof Technical Services, a free-of-charge site survey was carried out and a bespoke specification was produced for the project.
The existing roof was cleaned and retained and a new vapour control layer was fitted, followed by high-performance insulation boards and approved 18mm plywood, which was fixed into the roof deck. The Polyroof 185 system was then applied to the plywood to provide a seamless and durable waterproofing membrane that carries an insurance-backed guarantee for 20 years and a BBA durability rating of 30 years.
