Kingspan Insulated Panels is Founding Partner of NSC

Kingspan Insulated Panels is proud to have become one of a few Founding Partners of the BRE National Solar Centre (NSC), which was officially opened by Energy Minister Greg Barker in St Austell, Cornwall.

The launch of the National Solar Centre in Cornwall has been welcomed as an important step to developing the UK solar industry and transforming it into a truly global player. “The Coalition Government has finally put solar firmly on the map,” said Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker.
The National Solar Centre aims at becoming a centre for research and excellence that is driving innovation, market analysis and development of future standards for the UK solar industry. Kingspan Insulated Panels alongside a small number of other Founding Partners will be playing a key role in sharing the knowledge, fuelling the research and contributing towards the development of policies promoting solar industry growth, thus ultimately benefiting the UK energy market.
One of the main objectives of the centre is to encourage innovation in the area of building integrated photovoltaics, which is also the primary product focus of Integrated Solar Solutions, a sub-division of Kingspan Insulated Panels. During the opening ceremony, Energy Minister Greg Barker took a genuine interest in one of the new BIPV concept products by Kingspan.
Barry Marsh, who has been appointed as the NSC’s director said: “I am delighted to be appointed at such a critical time in the industry, and look forward to working with our Founding Partners, industry stakeholders, and supporters.” As one of the Founding Partners, Kingspan looks forward to it too.
