Huge baths restoration project includes Cibes lift
The Newcastle City Baths fitness venue is gradually reopening after the Covid-19 shutdown and visitors will once again be able to appreciate the fabulous restoration that included the installation of a Cibes lift.
The venue was closed for six years before undergoing an incredible £7.5 million transformation, that saw the Grade II listed building sensitively restored to its former glory, with many of the building’s original features retained. Opened in January this year, the city centre building now offers Turkish baths, a spa, pool and top-quality fitness and well-being facilities all in one place.
The Cibes A5000 was a clear choice for this project, providing access from the outside at street level up into the internal space. The minimally invasive installation is ideal for listed projects like this and can often be installed in as little as 5-7 days.
The A5000 has a maximum travel of 20 metres and a very small pit depth of 50mm, which can even be installed with a ramp if this isn’t possible.
