Guardian Industrial Doors going green
In a move to reduce its carbon footprint, door systems and roller shutters manufacturer Guardian Industrial Doors has recently celebrated the commissioning of an 11 KW solar array on the roof of the Essex factory and office.
The array will generate approximately a quarter of the electricity used at Guardian for day-to-day operations with excess electricity being supplied to the grid at weekends and during holiday periods.
The solar array is part of an overall strategy to reduce the company’s environmental impact and reduce operating costs in the longer term. It adds to initiatives already in place to reduce energy loss.
