Good Directions makes sure the AA is right on time
People in Guildford can now rely on the AA for finding out the correct time – after Good Directions made improvements to the clock on top of the organisation’s headquarters in the town.
Good Directions first had to remove the clock tower from the top of the headquarters building in Guildford. Once the tower was back in the company’s Hampshire factory, it was waterproof tested to ensure it was safe and suitable to go back on the new AA building that would be built on the original site.
Once the tower had been fully checked and tested, the team was tasked with making any repairs as well as replacing the clock dials which had seen better days, fit new mechanisms and LED illumination inside the tower to back-light the dials.
The tower was then re-installed on top of a custom-made base to add some additional height to ensure it was still visible from the road. Good Directions produced the base in steel and then covered it in patinated copper so that it matched the original tower.
