Press Room: Gateway House features striking Urban Front door design

Gateway House features striking Urban Front door design

Urban Front is proud to be featured in the stunning Gateway House project, a remarkable home built by Casamia Homes that showcases thoughtful design and cutting-edge technology. George Tyler, Land and Sales Director at Casamia Homes, shares insights into the vision behind the project and why Urban Front was chosen to create a statement entry for the property.

Gateway-House

A Vision Realized for Gateway House
Casamia Homes’ client envisioned a home with spacious, open-plan living areas that could accommodate family and friends without sacrificing style. The finished property includes elegant stonework, iron balustrades, and smart home technologies like pre-programmed mood lighting. The result is a visually striking yet understated home that perfectly matches the client’s vision.

The Role of Urban Front
One of the key design elements was selecting a door that sets the tone for the rest of the house. According to Tyler, “We searched for a statement door that would give visitors a feel for the inside identity of the house before entering. Homes often reflect an individual's taste on the inside, but we wanted to make an impact from the outside as well.” Urban Front’s Milano door in oak with ebony oil was the perfect choice. Its rich, dark finish contrasts beautifully with the stone facade, providing a seamless transition from the exterior to the sleek interior of the house.

Energy Efficiency and Smart Design
Sustainability was also at the forefront of the project. Gateway House features a PV solar system, underfloor heating powered by an Air Source Heat Pump, and an Anderson car charging point, making the property energy self-sufficient and significantly reducing reliance on external power sources.

Challenges and Triumphs
Building on a hillside came with its share of challenges, but the Casamia Homes team expertly utilized the natural topography to create a unique, multi-level home. "Configuring a space that worked from the two-storey frontage to the three-storey rear was a challenge, but the result is breathtaking," said Tyler.

Interior and Landscaping Harmony
The home’s design extends beyond the architecture. Talbot Landscaping designed stunning low-maintenance gardens featuring hues of purple, white, and blue, enhancing the home’s connection to its natural surroundings. Inside, dark, masculine tones contrast with tactile fabrics, offering both elegance and comfort.

A Testament to Collaborative Design
The homeowner expressed her satisfaction with both Casamia Homes and Urban Front, stating, “The team was with me from the design stages to ensure every detail, including the door, complemented the house. It’s an effortless home to live in, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.”

The Gateway House project stands as a testament to collaboration and attention to detail, showcasing how thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship come together to create a home that is both striking and functional.
