Supported and sponsored by colleagues, family, friends and suppliers, Forticrete Technical Advisor Lewis Turnbull has raised over £1,000 for Ambitious about Autism after taking on cycling clothing and accessory company Rapha’s gruelling Manchester to London challenge.

Now in its fourth year, the Manchester to London challenge sees riders set off from the Manchester Velodrome at dawn, riding down the spine of the country through the Peak District, Midlands and the Chilterns before finishing at Ambitious about Autism’s TreeHouse school. Over the past three years the ride has raised over £770,000 in support of the charity, with this year’s ride aiming to surpass £1 million.

Rachel Appleyard, Roofing Product Manager at Forticrete, commented: “Lewis invested many months into training, even using annual holiday leave to ensure he was able to successfully tackle the phenomenal challenge and importantly, raise a significant amount of money for a worthwhile cause. Each and every one of us at Forticrete are immensely proud of his efforts.”

Lewis added: “Ambitious about Autism is a fantastic charity. I have heard many touching stories about the support that it provides to children and families affected by autism. To raise over £1,000 for the charity is incredible and hope this plays its part in ensuring the charity continues to help those in need. I am extremely grateful for the overwhelming support of those that sponsored me.”
