Flood Company barriers chosen to withstand hurricanes
The strength and reliability of Buffalo Flood Barriers, one of the demountable aluminium flood barriers supplied by The Flood Company, is renowned far and wide. Which is why these barriers were selected for two recent projects in Hong Kong.
The region is subject to extreme weather including typhoons and hurricanes, so flood defence products need to be exceptionally robust. The Flood Company’s Hong Kong distributor installed a bespoke Buffalo barrier in a retail and residential area and also barriers at a professional football club.
The Kitchee Sports Club, based in Kowloon, was founded in 1931 and competes in the Hong Kong Premier League. The club has won the Hong Kong Premier League three times and the Hong Kong FA Cup six times in their history but the stadium was frequently subjected to flooding. The new installation should keep the stadium in top form too.
