Express Bi-folding Doors called on for trio of projects
Work by Express Bi-folding Doors spread over three years has helped transform a traditional farmhouse into a modern property finished to the highest standards.
The company was called on to be involved in three separate phases of the refurbishment. First, Express Bi-folding Doors installed a three-panel XP View bi-folding door complete with solar powered blinds into the new, modern kitchen. The homeowners then wanted to update the rest of the property by installing aluminium windows and door products throughout – again from Express Bi-folding Doors. Finally, the impressive summerhouse was built, which again benefits from the company’s casement windows and French doors to create a light-filled, multi-functional space.
Bespoke products supplied include the 3600mm wide, three-panel XP View bi-folding door for the kitchen. With the largest individual folding door panels possible, the bi-fold door really maximises the light pouring into the kitchen.
The remaining bi-folding doors and French doors within the property have been manufactured from Express’s XP10 door system as they are positioned on different elevations to the XP View and the requirements for smaller door panels meant the XP10 was the perfect solution for the rest of the house.
The aluminium casement windows give the old farmhouse a modern twist, with the slim sightlines looking superb both internally and on the external elevations of the property. The grand entrance to the property is made up of Express’s distinctive Caverro style front door with adjacent glazed side light.
The kitchen flawlessly leads out to a raised decking area set among the sprawling countryside. The flexibility gained from bi-folding doors is used in the living area and a TV room with both seamlessly connecting to the landscaped garden outside. The summerhouse sits at the foot of the garden containing an open plan kitchen and living area as well as a gym, all of which basks in natural light thanks to the large amount of glazing within it.
The house itself is beautiful with the blend of zinc cladding, Yorkshire stone, insulated render and aluminium windows and doors all combining to superb effect. The new farmhouse is now a stunning home that is beautifully presented throughout both inside and out.
