ESF Supplies Street Furniture to Mo Mowlam Play Park
ESF is delighted to announce its involvement in the transformation of the Mo Mowlam Play Park at Stormont Estate, having supplied a stunning array of mmcité street furniture to the newly-refurbished, inclusive facility. This exciting project has seen the installation of a wide range of products, including picnic tables, benches, litter bins, dog waste bins, landscape curved seating, and a vibrant selection of coloured stools.
The Mo Mowlam Play Park, named after the esteemed former Northern Ireland Secretary of State, has been thoughtfully designed as an inclusive space for children of all abilities. The play park now features wheelchair-accessible equipment such as a roundabout, swing, low-level lookout tower, and trampoline. Additionally, a dedicated sensory area has been introduced to enhance the experience for children with special sensory needs.
Sue Gray, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Finance, expressed her support for the new play park, saying:
"The new and improved Mo Mowlam Play Park is a fantastic facility which enables all children to play together in a safe environment. This state-of-the-art area has been carefully planned, designed, and created to cater for children of all abilities. The previous play park provided nearly 20 years of enjoyment and was widely used by youth groups, schools, and families from right across Northern Ireland. Combined with the educational trails, new accessible barbecue area, and picnic park, the Stormont Estate makes for a family-friendly, fun-filled, free day out."
The £800,000 investment into the Mo Mowlam Play Park includes a bespoke multi-sensory area, storytelling area, and natural play zone. New paths, safety surfaces, and an upgraded toilet block with parent and baby facilities have also been added, ensuring the entire site is fully accessible.
