CPD examines how to specify 100 per cent recycled lead
International Industrial Metals’ RIBA-approved CPD, ‘Lead – uniquely recycled for a better informed decision’ examines the sophisticated process by which lead is extracted from car batteries to be re-formed as BS EN 12588 rolled lead sheet.
With only one such plant in the UK, over 95% of the constituent parts of any battery are recovered, this provides a total chain of custody and scope to specify Code 3-8 material which presents the lowest environmental impact.
