Press Room: Chemfix Metoseal Protects from Water and Staining

Chemfix Metoseal Protects from Water and Staining

Chemfix announces the launch of Metoseal, a new high quality surface treatment and protectant which is used on any porous material including all grades of concrete. This chemically inert and environmentally friendly water-based fluoro polymer gives the treated surface a unique "non stick" quality. Metoseal is available from May 1st from Chemfix Products Ltd in 5L or 20L pack sizes.

Metoseal’s key benefits are that it protects against water, against staining and against corrosion; it is totally invisible and does not harm its surroundings.

Once Metoseal is applied to the surface, using a spray gun, roller or brush, then it forms an invisible barrier which will not allow water to penetrate. Moisture and efflorescence is allowed to escape naturally from the surface.

By lowering the surface free energy, Metoseal creates a 'non stick' effect. All known aggressive surface contaminants for example diesel, oils and cooking fats, fizzy drinks, graffiti, bird droppings, and moss are prevented from adhering or penetrating the surface. These elements are washed away easily by natural irrigation or light cleaning without the need for detergents. Staining from atmospheric pollution and UV rays is also prevented, leaving the surface looking like new for a long period of time.

As natural moisture and humidity is driven out, but prevented from entering the surface, so the product protects against the corrosion of reinforcement bars, and/or any other types of metal fixing element from within.

One of the key features of Metoseal is that it is NOT a film-forming barrier system, meaning it will leave the visual appearance of a surface completely unchanged. True colours will be maintained in all conditions and the surface will always keep its new look. Moisture protection will prevent any growth of moss or algae.

Metoseal is applied without the worry of the effects to plants, pets, windows or doors. It will not harm or affect any surroundings leaving people free to enjoy the benefits. Many other silicone, acrylic or solvent based products on the market cause harm to their surroundings either by accident or through negligence.

The only way Metoseal can be degraded from the surface is through heavy, constant and continued abrasion. In non-abrasive application surfaces, for example house walls, the protection will last a lifetime. On all other applications a standard five-year life guarantee is offered on maximum effectiveness (when applied by an approved installer).

Metoseal is already being used in the most demanding situations in the professional arena by pre-cast paving and block paving specialists, and in turn to the largest local authorities in the country.

Its areas of use include home patios, pathways, block paved driveways, roofing, stone quoins, brick walls, petrol stations, parks, pavements, industrial sites, building works, external rendering, plasterwork, stone ornaments, kitchen worktops, stone floors, concrete, natural stone, sandstone, flagstones, slate, marble and brick.

Metoseal is available in two pack sizes - 5L and 20L. The UN approved stackable HD recyclable units have a carry handle, and tamper evident screw top closures which are ready to use and non hazardous for transportation.

It is applied using either a brush, roller or by a standard market spray gun, all of which are available from Chemfix.
