Cemplas Renew Wandsworth Ramp
When a fast turnaround by a Sika approved contractor was required to undertake specialised coating works to a concrete ramp leading to the basement of a new Taylor Wimpy residential development, Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd was approached and asked to prepare a proposal and quotation to undertake the work using Sikafloor-Pronto System.
Cemplas operatives were awarded the contract and commenced by preparing the ramps surface by blastracking the surfaces to remove and clean any surface laitance to provide a mechanical key and achieve a pull-off strength not less than 1.5 N/mm² prior to applying the Pronto system
On completion of the blastrac preparation, the ramp was fully inspected and work continued with Cemplas operatives applying Sika Pronto 11 primer which was lightly broadcast with a quartz sand.
A further two layers of Sika Pronto 15 were applied, with both layers being fully broadcasted with quartz sand.
The final stage was for Cemplas to seal the system with Sikafloor Pronto 18 Seal coat, a two part, fast curing, and flexible seal coat based on reactive acrylic resins for the Sikafloor-Pronto Modular System which the client selected in a grey pigmented colour.
As the ramp was a two-way traffic system Cemplas also applied all the epoxy line marking, including double yellow lines on either side, a white centre line and a clear STOP sign at the top of the ramp.
The works were completed in 2 days, on time, on budget, and to the complete satisfaction of the client.
