Cemplas Makes Short Work of Storage Room Floor
When the storage area on the first floor at Swanley Shopping Centre required a new floor topping, the client called in the specialist flooring division of Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Limited to provide in excess of 300m² of a new floor surface.
Due to time constraints with the client wanting the store room operational in as short a time as possible, Cemplas decided on using Ronascreed Self-Smoothing Topping from Ronacrete Ltd, as this could be pumped direct to the store room, and would take early foot traffic.
Prior to installation a ‘Vonarx’ planning machine was use to provide a clean keyed surface which was followed by sealing and priming the floor. Once the floor was prepared and primed floor, datums and levels were taken, and Ronascreed Self Smoothing Topping was pumped in one operation.
Self smoothing pumpable screeds and toppings are supplied as a free flowing cement based dry powder which requires a known quantity of clean water to produce a self-smoothing mix ready to pump or pour on to a prepared, sealed and primed surface.
