Cemplas aids security firm move to new head office complex

Security services firm Banham contacted Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd to carry out concrete works following its move to a new head office complex twice the size of the company’s old base in Vauxhall, London.

An empty warehouse and railway embankment in Thornsett Road, Earlsfield, was transformed into a new HQ for Banham, which continues to be owned and run by the Banham family, and is now in its third generation with the founder’s grandson as Chairman, and grandchildren as Directors. Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs was contacted by Lucie Banham to undertake works to the four internal main stair cores to provide a fair faced, and consistent colour smooth concrete finish, yet still maintaining the characteristics of poured concrete.
Following a survey by Cemplas operatives, a specification for a three-coat Keim Concrete Lasur coating system was put forward to the client, and the main contractor for the project instructed Cemplas to undertake the works.
Works commenced by Cemplas operatives applying Keim Dilution, a clear potassium silicate base that it etches the concrete surface and allows the following coats of Keim Lasur to form a monolithic bond to the substrate. The Keim Lasur is then diluted to create the desired level of opacity. Previous mis-coloured repairs were sanded back, face filled with Keim fine finish mortar and Keim Lasur Spachtel filler and toned in individually before two coats were applied over the entire surfaces.
The project required a high level of dust control and protection as the offices were fully occupied.
For over 45 years, Cemplas has demonstrated a systematic approach to solving client’s specific needs, and the company is able to see a project through from initial investigation, remedial proposal specification through to the completion of the final project. Cemplas strives to offer the best value solutions, latest technologies and commercial acumen to balance the needs, budgetary pressure, and structural requirement of the client. Company operatives work safely and are committed to treating people with respect and upholding a position of trust, ensuring the client can always raise any questions or concerns they may have.
The project was completed on schedule to the complete satisfaction of the client, and Cemplas issued a joint warranty with Keim.
