CED Stone Group announces an end to bubble wrap

The team at environmentally-aware CED Stone Group are taking another step towards doing their bit for the planet.

Already a proud holder of ISO 14001: 2015 certification, the group has now announced it will stop using plastic bubble wrap for its sample packaging. Instead, samples will be sent out secured in Geami Wrap, a 100% recyclable, renewable and biodegradable packaging solution.
The switch follows a proposal put forward last year by the company’s Commercial Division. Last year CED Stone Group went through 1700m² of bubble wrap, 1700m² of plastic. That’s almost the same area as one and a half Olympic-size swimming pools.
Over and above this, using the new packaging also cuts down on the use of plastic parcel tape to secure the sample within, as the new wrap is self-securing.
Customers who use GreenWrap sustainable packaging materials help avoid more than 1000 truckloads of bubble packaging from being dumped into landfills annually, and CED Stone Group is proud to play its part in this.
Last year the group was awarded ISO 14001 certification. This Environmental Management System is a systematic framework to manage the immediate and long-term environmental impacts of an organisation’s products, services and processes. Holders of ISO 14001 certification can assure stakeholders that their environmental management system meets international industry specific environmental standards.
