Automatic Aluminium Sliding Doors Installed in Box at Rugby HQ
Hazlemere Commercial was commissioned by the English Rugby Football Union to manufacture and install double glazed automatic aluminium sliding doors to the front of the RFU Injured Players Foundation’s VIP box at Twickenham (affectionately known to many as “HQ”) in time for the England v Wales rugby international on Saturday 25th February 2012, to allow easy access to the viewing area outside the box for severely injured rugby players.
This special hospitality area for players who sustained serious injuries whilst playing rugby union was completely redesigned and refurbished. This RFU Injured Players Foundation’s (IPF) VIP box at Twickenham has been specially adapted to accommodate wheelchair users and their carers. As an article published on the RFU website on 27th February 2012 entitled “Injured players are Twickenham VIPs” stated: “In six weeks, the stadium’s technical and facilities team stripped and remade the facility which overlooks the pitch, creating sliding glass doors and a terrace for wheelchairs, together with big screen and a smart new environment.”
Hazlemere Commercial was proud to be associated with the RFU IPF, plus thrilled the company was able to fabricate and install the commercial sliding aluminium doors on time for the official “opening” before the Six Nations Triple Crown clash between England and Wales.
As the article on rfu.com goes on to state: “The IPF Twickenham VIP Box makeover was achieved thanks to the generosity of the RFU and the hard work and charitable contributions from: Hayley Manning Ltd, Ward McHugh Architects, Clean a Cover Ltd, Hazlemere Commercial Glazing, Volante Ltd, Fred O’Dell Carpets, 360 Creative Event Services and Signs Express (Twickenham).”
