The National Self Build & Renovation Centre offers new courses for 2009
For many budding self builders, the main obstacle to building their dream home is fear of the unknown.
BuildStore’s Self Build Courses, hosted at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon have been developed to provide self builders with the insider knowledge, practical skills and confidence to need to get their projects off the ground!
Over eight step-by-step modules, which cover all the key elements of a self build project, you can gain a real understanding of the self build process, from budgeting and finding land, to employing tradesmen and understanding the latest eco technology. The modules are delivered by renowned author, David Snell and BuildStore’s self build advisor, Mike Hardwick. Each session will include two modules, taught over a two-day period, every other week, starting from 22nd January 2009. In just 8 weeks, you will have learned everything you need to know to make your self build project a success.
The Self Build Courses have been developed in conjunction with Swindon College, and cover the following modules: budgeting, plot evaluation, design, construction methods, planning & building control, project management, managing tradesmen, renovation, and eco building.
Each module costs £60, or you can book for 4 modules for £180, with each additional module booked discounted to £45. Book with a friend or as a couple and receive 10% off. All prices include lunch, full module notes and binder, and a full day's expert teaching.
