Renson Introduces Compact Version of Acoustic Vent
RENSON®, trendsetter in natural ventilation and external solar shading, extends its line of acoustic window ventilators with the self-regulating Sonovent® Compact. This is a compact version of the well-known Sonovent® with good results regarding acoustic values and airflow. It is available with three different air slots (10, 13 or 15 mm), which results in different sound reduction levels and airflows, while maintaining the same sightline at the outside.
RENSON® developed the Sonovent® Compact, a self-regulating acoustic vent which is applicable to all types of window frames: aluminium, timber or uPVC. It can be installed on glass with a thickness of 20, 22, 24, 28, 32 or 36 mm or at transom. This compact version of the well-known Sonovent® has a glass reduction of 78 mm and a height of 95 mm. Equipped with non combustible mineral wool as noise-damping material, this vent provides an excellent acoustic performance whilst in open position. It can be delivered in three versions allowing three different airflows and sound reduction values while maintaining the same design: Sonovent® Compact 10, 13 and 15.
The Sonovent® Compact 10 with an air slot of 10 mm has an airflow at 1 Pa of 12,1 l/s/m and equivalent area of 15334 mm²/m and offers a sound reduction Dn,e,w (C; Ctr) of 36 (0;-1) dB. The Sonovent® Compact 13 – air slot of 13 mm – combines an airflow of 15,2 l/s/m and equivalent area of 19278 mm²/m with a sound reduction Dn,e,w (C; Ctr) of 35 (0;-1) dB. The Sonovent® Compact 15 with the biggest air slot (15 mm) achieves an airflow of 19,4 l/s/m and equivalent area of 24687 mm²/m and guarantees a sound reduction Dn,e,w (C; Ctr) of 33 (0;-1) dB. This system offers major advantages for the architect and installer. The same acoustic vent can be used in different places of the building while offering the same exterior aesthetical look.
The thermally broken Sonovent® Compact has a self-regulating flap (class P3) that reacts automatically to various wind pressures and cannot be directed by the user. It assures a constant volume of air circulating the building, while the windforce increases. In this way, draughts are prevented and savings on energy costs are realised. The inside grille performs as an insect mesh and can be removed easily for cleaning purposes. The Sonovent® Compact is available in satin anodised finish or can be powdercoated in any RAL or Syntha Pulvin® colour of your choice. This vent can only be ordered made to measure with a maximum length of 2000 mm, when installed on glass, or a maximum length of 2500 mm for installation at transom. It can be delivered with manual control, cord, rod or motor control.
These features make the Sonovent® Compact an ideal solution for secure ventilation without external noise; insect proof, burglar-proof and rainproof. It can be used for new building or renovation for residential dwellings as well as hospitals, offices, schools and other commercial applications.
